This site is called Do It Yourself, NOT Do It Alone.

While you are the person in charge of your health you also need help and support to accomplish your Superhealer mission.

Imagine if you had to grow your own organic vegetables, manufacture your own supplements and go to naturopathic school so you can heal yourself? You wouldn’t have time for anything else.

Getting help from experts will give you the resources, support, feedback and help you need to transform your health.

Starting a new diet can throw your life off balance and make you feel like you don’t fit in. That’s why I’m working on a group coaching program to bring community to your healing experience.

Interacting with people who are going through what you are will muffle the isolation and provide inspiration.

We are social creatures who like to associate with people who believe what we believe.

I learn so much from the experiences of others. I like to surround myself with people who are passionate about their lifestyle, lead by example and don’t need to fit in. And I’ve found plenty of them online.

This is where I go to find community and inspiration for a grain-free, whole food life.

Recipes

Just Eat Real Food This Facebook page is one of the best resources for grain-free, Paleo-style, whole food recipes. This community is 185K strong and lists weekly recipes from the grain-free blogosphere. If you are out of ideas for dinner, this feed of amazing looking recipes will overwhelm you with choices. It’s also a good way to check out an array of different cooking styles and approaches.

Empowered Sustenance  What I love about this website aside from the delicious, grain-free recipes and health inspiration is that this is a nut-free recipe blog. I can eat nuts now, but when I was healing myself nuts were completely off limits because I had a sensitivity to them. Nice to find a nut-free blogger. Yes I know how that sounds….

My Pinterest recipe page When I stumble upon a grain-free recipe that I love I file it in my Pinterest recipe board. It includes lots of Paleo-legal, gut healing desserts. Check it out if you don’t want to get too overwhelmed. I only have 35 recipes pinned but they have been carefully selected and often tested by me. And I am always adding new ones.

Nourished Kitchen I love this site because her food pictures always look so beautiful and appealing. Just looking at the photos of her recipes inspires me to have healthy cravings. Sexy veggies, luscious fruit. Classy, tasteful food porn. Oh and some great whole food recipe ideas. That means she has recipes for Paleo/GAPS/SCD, dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan diets. Whew.

 

 

Healthy living (including recipes)

Wellness Mama I love this website. Katie is a fellow journalist turned health blogger who inspires thousands of people with real food recipes, healthy living and fitness resources. This site has been around a while so is a rich source of health info and resources. And I really like her style and what she has to say.

Real Food Forager This blog is written by a nutritionist and chiropractor who follows the nutrition advice of the Weston A Price Foundation (more info about this below). Her blog features recipes that are gluten & grain-free, dairy-free, sucrose, starch, and soy-free and in line with gut healing diets like the Specific Carbohydrate, Gut and Psychology, and Primal/Paleo.

Chris Kresser You might have heard of Chris Kresser, he has a very popular blog. He lives in the next town over from mine and I am always hoping to run into him at the grocery store when I shop in Berkely, CA. Chris is an acupuncturist, Paleo advocate and self proclaimed science nerd. His blog posts often challenge mainstream health myths with sound science.  I definitely learn a lot from Chris and share many of his health and nutrition beliefs.

Reversing Food Allergies I think that many people accept their food allergies as something they must avoid forever. I truly believe that food allergies are healable. That means they often go away when the body is brought back into balance.

 

This is mostly a paid site that teaches people how to heal their food allergies, but it also provides some allergy free recipes and a free e-book on reversing food allergies. Check it out if you are sick of living with food allergies. I’m not promoting this product because I haven’t tried it personally but I did want to make the point that food allergies don’t have to be forever.

Love this site for it’s cute simplicity, gourmet-style Paleo recipes and amazing food photo. Yes, this is definitely Paleo food porn. Oh my.

 

This is where I get my Paleo bread recipes. A great source of every type of Paleo recipe you can think of. From desserts and shakes to dinner and breakfast options.

 

Not only does this site have great recipes but the blogger who runs it infuses her site with silliness, bad dancing (check out her cooking videos) and self-deprecating humor. Good for a grain-free recipes and a laugh.

 

This is an online Facebook community of Paleo enthusiasts. It’s a great interactive place to ask for Paleo menu advice or anything else. This responsive and friendly group that will make you feel much less alone in your eating habits.

Joe Salama, the group’s leader, has written an Inspring Collection of healing success stories of people who went on the Paleo diet.

 

A good health credo to live by

Weston A. Price Foundation This foundation provides basic principles for eating “real food”. It’s not a diet but rather a guideline on how to choose and prepare the most nourishing foods. For example, it suggests to only eat grass-fed or pasture raised animal products, raw, whole milk and presoaked grains and nuts for easier digestion.

 

It also offers advice on what kinds of pots to cook with, what kind of water to drink and the healing power of bone broth.
